I created Hot Girls Don’t Colonize in an effort to build something I needed in a moment of very insignificant distress.

A creator––and I dare not call myself dramatic––essentially colonized "Hot Girls Read" by trademarking the phrase and asking small businesses to remove their merchandise. My immediate instinct was to spend my money with those businesses anyway. 

I needed a resource that had aggregated all of these links in one place and I knew very quickly that that was too niche to exist. So I created it! 

When I was thinking about what to call this community resource (that I also wanted to be crowd-sourced), I thought: 

Hot girls do plenty of things, but hot girls DEFINITELY do not colonize. 

And there it was. 

I happily secured the domain hotgirlsdontcolonize.com and a few hours later the ideas started coming, so I secured the IG (and TikTok) too. I knew there was no way I was only going to use this site as a Hot Girls Read merchandise link aggregator, and that;s when I started building the creative and written foundation for what HGDC is becoming––and what you’re looking at now. :)
